thank you...

i would like to say "thank you" for the gracious expressions of Christian love and sympathy during my dad's long illness and eventual passing. your sustaining prayers meant more to me than you will ever know.
i have been thinking a lot these days about Christ's words to martha concerning her brother lazarus' death in john 11. He said, "this sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God that the Son of God might be glorified through it." this sickness is not unto death. my dad's sickness is not unto death. our own sicknesses will not be unto death. this is the truth of Christ. "Jesus said...'I am the resurrection and the life. he who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. and whoever lives and believes in Me, shall never die. do you believe Me?" (john 11:25,26 NKJV)
our belief is our assurance, beyond what we may see or feel; that in the midst of grieving we may know: God has done the perfect thing.
